Where does this game fall in the Naruto storyline? Are there significant anime references to speak of?
Nishikawa: Since Ultimate Ninja Heroes focuses purely on battle, we didn’t include any story elements this time round. But something interesting happens when players form teams with characters who are closely connected in the original story. IGN: For a gamer who’s never had the opportunity to see the Naruto anime series, will this game still appeal to them? Nishikawa: Definitely! The battle system, game volume, and everything about the game is very compelling. I’m sure those who are not familiar with the Naruto franchise and play Ultimate Ninja Heroes will be drawn to the original comic and anime. IGN: How does this title break away from other Naruto games? Nishikawa: The characters in Ultimate Ninja Heroes are definitely presented better and are more unique. The “wow factor” and amazing graphical quality of the “Secret Techniques” movie sequences are beyond any portable games out there.
