Where does the widely recognized stereotypical “attractive woman” (ie large breasted, blonde) come from?
That blonde is beautiful is not arbitrary. In general, fairness (light skin) is considered attractive in women all over the world, including North and South America, Europe, North Africa, Middle East, India, China and Japan. Light skin is traditionally considered desirable even among some dark skinned peoples, like Americans of African descent, people in Haiti, Liberia, etc. Upper class is slender and fair. Lower class is darker and stockier. This tendency is also ancient. For example, Egyptian wall paintings consistently show idealized females as at least two shades lighter than corresponding males. In reality, females are lighter skinned on average than males. They have less melanin and their skin is thinner and finer than corresponding male skin. This is an effect of estrogen. The same thing is true for big breasts. Big breasts are big in themselves but also big in relation to a tiny waist. Men are intuitively attracted to women with a waist hip ratio of about .70. Both are also an
