Where does the theory of Premillennialism come from?
This doctrine teaches that Jesus failed to establish his kingdom on earth while he was here because the people rejected him. They killed him. So, they say that Jesus will come again and this time he will establish his kingdom on earth. This simply is not true. Jesus was not a failure. His kingdom is spiritual. The Jews in Israel were expecting a physical kingdom. They hoped that Jesus would become the King of Israel and overpower the Romans whom they hated. But when Jesus was before Pilate, he said, John 18:36 36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.” His kingdom is spiritual. The 1000 year reign is taken from the Book of Revelations. This book and several others are call Apocalyptic.
