Where does the Rhine River start?
At a length of 820 miles, the rive Rhine is the longest River in Europe. Its discharge or the amount of water that it empties into the sea is 71,000 cubic feet per second. The source of the River Rhine is the Alps in Switzerland. It has two main tributaries, Vorderrhein (Anterior) and Hinterrhein (Posterior) and both these spring from different sources. Vorderrhein originates from Tomasee close to the Oberalp pass while posterior Rhine originates from “Paradies Glacier”.
