Where does the Oedema go?
A very complex system of initial Lymphatics, deeper and collecting Lymphatics moves towards high Lymph node territories such as those seen in the inguinal and auxiliary regions. From here the lymph moves deeply towards the sub-clavian veins where it empties via the thoracic duct back into venous circulation. From this point Lymph travels via the heart and lungs to the liver for detoxification and kidneys for removal in the form of urine.
