Where does the number equaling a “Vast majority” come from?

I also don’t have any data or statistics. I think it would be something about which it would be very difficult to collect statistics. From my limited experience as an adoptive parent who networks with other adoptive parents all of the open adoptions I am aware of have stayed open except in fost-to-adopt situations where they are closed for the safety of the children. Granted there are always two sides to every story and I only hear the adoptive parent’s side of the story. I am even aware of a number of adoptions (mostly international) that were originally closed that have been opened. I think what we see depends a great deal on our particular circles. I believe open adoption is best for the child and consequently tend to associate with other adoptive parents who believe the same thing. This may account for my skewed perspective, if that is what it is.

If I’m using the words “vast majority”, I’m assuming the number is 80-90 percent. 51% is a majority.
