Where does the NCRG get its funding and how much does the gaming industry contribute?
Through the contributions of the commercial casino industry, equipment manufacturers, vendors, related organizations and individuals, more than $22 million has been committed to the NCRG to fund research on gambling-related disorders, an unprecedented level of private funding for research of this kind. Gaming companies and related organizations provide different levels of support to the NCRG each year. A portion of proceeds from events including the JCM-AGA Golf Classic, the AGA’s Gaming Hall of Fame Charity Dinner and Induction Ceremony, Responsible Gaming Education Week and Global Gaming Expo (G2E) also are donated to the NCRG each year. This financial support has enabled the NCRG to attract the best minds from the most prestigious institutions to the field of gambling research, resulting in tremendous growth in an area that was virtually uncharted just a decade ago.
