Where does the name Jabiru come from?
The name Jabiru was chosen to reflect our commitment to working with children, young people, and families. Through the name, we seek to be associated with the strong natural family, place, and community links that are important to the Jabiru, Australia’s only true stork. Each year, the Jabiru flies to Brisbane’s wetlands from as far away as the Northern Territory to nest and raise its young.
