Where Does the Name AWANA Come From?
The AWANA acronym comes from the second book of Timothy, chapter two, verse 15: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” We at the Christ Community Church of Laguna Hills believe that AWANA is an effective method to teach and prepare our children for the future. AWANA is a time-tested program that has been offered in the United States for over fifty years. We have been a chartered Church since 1980. AWANA has also been expanding its program to be an international program with its material printed in many languages. One major emphasis of AWANA is to teach your children the importance of “hiding scripture in your heart.” This is done through the memorization of God’s Word in a fun environment designed around your child’s age and is self-paced.
