Where does the money go when I buy a SecureSong?
When you successfully purchase a SecureSong your account will be deducted the price of the song. 30% of your purchase goes towards handling the file (digital rights licensing, micro-payment processing, file hosting, etc.) The rest goes to the rightsholder (such as the label or artist). In some cases, the artist works with a marketing partner who is not the rightsholder. In those cases, a small portion of the rightsholder percentage goes to the marketing partner. The rightsholder and marketing partner have SecureCastle.com accounts just like everyone else.
