County ordinance fines go to Imperial County. State citation fines go to Imperial County and the State of California. The money from federal citations go to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Funds collected from the payment of petty offense cases are deposited into the Crime Victims Fund. The Crime Victims Fund was established by the Victims of Crime Act of 1984 and is a major funding source for victim services throughout the country. The $25 processing fee is used to offset court costs.
