Labor tried to fix it radically, made a mess, the Libs tried to fix it but screwed it the worse it’s ever been (Howard was treasurer – 22% interest rates!) Then Labor’s Hawke (Keating treasurer) had a go. They floated the dollar and fixed wages, halting both inflation and unemployment.
