Where does tech fee money go?
Students pay a Technology Fee each semester. This fee is used to purchase and maintain state-of-the art technology for students to use on campus. The fee supports a number of basic computing and telecommunications services, such as central computing and server facilities, on-line documentation and computer-based training courses, student computer labs, a select set of software products at no charge, and student support services. For more information about the Technology Fee, visit http://web.utk.edu/~techfee/. $120,000 of Tech Fee money is being used to reduce the charge of printing. This allows the University to charge the minimal cost of 2 cents per page.
