Where does stormwater runoff go?
Stormwater runoff collects and picks up soil, pet waste, pesticides, fertilizer, oil, leaves, litter and other potential pollutants on its way to the storm drain. Storm drains found along curbs do not go to wastewater treatment plants. These drains lead directly to the nearest body of water and carry not only stormwater, but all of the contaminants stormwater picks up along the way.
