Where Does Shewag Stand in Crickets Hall of Fame?
Virender Shewag has been playing in the Indian team for almost a decade as an opening batsman. He has had a distinguished record with 19 test centuries including 2 triple centuries. But his batting average of 53 is a slight letdown compared to Don Bradman’s batting (test) average of 99. We can qualify the Dons average of 99 as it was only against two countries the UK and Australia. The Don never played any where else. So it is a moot point how he would have fared against the master Google bowler SP Gupte and off spin wizard Ghulam Ahmed on rank turning wickets in India like at Madras and Calcutta.
