Where does phoenix Arizona get its water from?
I don’t live in Phoenix, Arizona so I cannot give you a direct answer, but there are cities around the world that get their water from underground aquifers. In area where the water in these aquifers has been their for centuries, and rain water is scarce, this water is referred to as fossil water. At some point these underground aquifers will run out of water and cities that depend on them will have to find a different water source. This problem is common in Middle Eastern countries. Dubai is one example of another type of water system, desalinization. In desalinization water is boiled in one place (usually a big chamber) and then the steam is cooled in another place. This purifies the water enough to be used for irrigation and if it is purified enough it can be used as drinking water.
