With over 350 commodities, California’s agricultural industry comprises the broad categories of food crops, fiber production and flora. At $4.05 billion, Nursery and Greenhouse are the second largest sector of agriculture. We have grown 62% over the past decade and our total employment and the economic contribution of our products at retail has more than doubled. Nursery is vital to urban and rural California. CANGC speaks to issues important to our members, sometimes unique from those of other agricultural commodities. It’s time for Nursery to expand awareness of our role in the industry, speak with a unified voice, push our agenda, join with others when needed to achieve our goals, and invite them to be our allies on our core issues.
