Where does metamorphic rocks come from?
Metamorphic means changed form. It comes from the word morph, which means to change. Metamorphic rocks come from rocks that were changed. All rocks start out as igneous rocks. Then the igneous rock weathers and erotes, and it becomes sediments. After that the sediments create a process called compaction and cementation, it becomes sedimentary rocks. After that, the sedimentary rocks have heat and pressure, and the rock becomes metamorphic.
