Where Does Magma Come From?

Yes, the Earth does have hot rocks. That’s just the truth – nothing to be ashamed of. Rock inside the earth is heated both by friction (because there might be 8 or 10 miles of rock laying on top of the rock in question) – and the middle of the earth is a giant nuclear furnace. So it’s nuclear decay that keeps the rocks hot. And they are in a sort of liquid state – and then a certain amount of water seeps down there and gets involved – that causes the rocks to be filled with white-hot steam! It’s just alarming. And then from time to time the Earth throws up – and we get a volcano.
