Where does Hoodia grow?
I live in Hawaii. and we have some interesting plants here but never heard of Hoodia. I will have to go and research it though. I need something to suppress my appetite, too bad it didn’t last a month! Thanks for the posting about this mater. Its a Succulent or cactus, maybe not the ladder. I believe it works. Its something the natvie people used. I wouldnt trust buying powdered forms or diet pills containing it. If you can get a live one to grow and harvest it yourself that would be pretty neat.
It is indigenous to the Kalahari Desert in Africa where it has grown for millennia. Now it grows in several deserts around the world through bio-piracy and legitimate phyto-sanitary export license agreements. The quality of Hoodia grown outside of the Kalahari Desert will vary in the way that grapes, oranges and other agricultural products vary based on climate, soil, sunshine, rainfall, cultivation, etc. In most cases, Hoodia grown outside of the Kalahari Desert is weak and usually sells at a pretty steep discount. People, who buy low quality Hoodia Gordonii, will come away from the experience very disappointed. Companies that sell poor quality Hoodia Gordonii, enrich themselves, while disparaging the true potential of this plant and spreading discontentment.
