Where does Facilities Operations advertise projects? How does WSU notify contractors?
Facilities Operations does not individually notify contractors unless the nature of work is specialized, thereby limiting the number of skilled contractors. As a rule, construction projects are advertised for bid in local newspapers and with local contractors plan centers. The advertisement includes contact instructions for respective projects. For each project that a contractor is interested in bidding, a contractor must contact Facilities Operations by phone, by letter, or by e-mail requesting inclusion on the ‘Plan-Holders List’. In addition, a list of project bidding and upcoming is listed on our Projects Bidding page. Small Works projects are not advertised in the papers. Approved contractors on the appropriate roster (General Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical) are notified of the opportunity to bid on the project.
