The amount for a lost item is pulled from the copy record. If there is no copy record, it will pull from the default price field that is associated with each library. So, this is a library by library setting. Other libraries have asked about configuring default prices by item type, but that function is not available yet. It is possibel to set up Evergreen to pull amounts from some other field besides the copy record, but that would require development.
