Where does Brett Favre rank amongst all time greatest NFL quarterbacks?
J: Right now I’d probably put him in the top ten. I don’t even know if he’s the greatest quarterback in Green Bay history. Favre’s got all the records but Starr has five championships. Currently I’d tell you that Montana, Unitas, Elway, Graham, Marino, and Starr are the greatest (in that order). Favre would probably be next. However, Marino only gets that recognition because he owns practically all of the career passing records. If Favre hangs around for another year or two, he will almost assuredly pass Marino in every major category (and he might pass Elway in wins as well). Couple those records along with a championship that Marino was never able to win and a record number of MVP trophies, and I think Favre would have a great case for the top three.
