Where does Bowen Technique originate from?
The Bowen Technique was developed in the 1950s by the late Tomas Bowen from Geelong, Australia. Bowen travelled around Australia treating 13,000 patients a year. In 1974 Oswald Rentsch and his wife Elaine followed Tomas Bowen and documented his work. With this knowledge they were able to teach the technique. Since then, over 17,000 therapists worldwide have studied Bowen Technique. Through Oswald and Elaines dedication to preserve this technique and ensuring that it is taught in its original form, they founded the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia in 1987.
