Beeswax is a natural, renewable product made by honeybees. Young bees secrete tiny wax scales from their abdomen – it takes over 500,000 of these tiny scales to make 1lb of beeswax. Beeswax is the quintessential earth-friendly wax – it’s not made from oil sludge like paraffin and does not require massive clear cuts like soy and palm plantations. Beeswax is the natural byproduct of a natural process, and we are proud to exclusively use 100% pure beeswax in all Presence of Nature™ products. Paraffin wax, used to make the vast majority of candles and wax products on the market, comes from petroleum and meat packing plant by-products. Harmful toxins are released into the air when paraffin is created, when it’s used to make candles, and also when the candle is lit and burned.
