Where does BALCO stand, and the way forward?
BALCO has already established its credentials: we have led the growth story in primary aluminium in the country. Our production capacity has increased from 1 lakh tonnes pa to 3.5 lakh tonnes pa in the last five years — this is post change of management from PSU to private professional. Further, our expansion is on, with our holding company Vedanta’s ongoing projects in Orissa our plan to reach 1 million tones pa is on track. So having already demonstrated our ability, there is only one way forward: achievement of our stated target.
