Where does an Environmental Health Officer work?
Environmental Health Officers work at the Council offices in Oban, Lochgilphead, Dunoon, Rothesay or Helensburgh. All Council’s employ Environmental Health Officers What does an Environmental Health Officer do? An Environmental Health Officer‘s role is to protect and improve public health. This work includes inspections of all food premises including hotels, restaurants, food manufactures to ensure that they are clean and that they are not producing or selling food which is unsafe and likely to affect the public. Other work includes the Inspection of a wide range of premises (swimming pools, garages, outdoor activities including white-water rafting, bungee jumping etc) to ensure that they are operated to protect the health, safety and welfare of employees and the public.
