Where do users obtain their radioisotopes?
Most instrument users obtain their radioisotopically labeled samples from companies which offer long lists of radiolabeled compounds that are known to be of biological interest. These same companies also provide custom synthesis services for more specialized compounds. The larger pharmaceutical companies also have their own synthesis departments which often make radioactive versions of new drugs for metabolic studies.
