Whatever you do, do NOT ask anyone at Applebee’s where they have the gift certificates. This will brand you as needy, incompetent and a total loser. Instead, you need to roam aimlessly around the entire restaurant, taking quick looks at every table to see if there is a gift certificate there. Wear sunglasses so that no one can see your eyes. If someone asks you if you need help, say “absolutely not” and act very indignant and insulted. If you happen to spot the gift certificates before around 30 minutes has gone by, ignore them. You don’t want anyone to know that is the reason you are there. Make another round of the restaurant and let some time pass. Finally, you will eventually spot them and be able to pick one up. If you haven’t see them, just keep looking. Take the certificate to the cash register that is located near the kitchen and wait until someone approaches you and asks if you want to buy a gift certificate.
