Where do they get the power and courage to kill people?
Killing becomes a habit for them. Only the first murder is difficult. Another thing is, without political support, no gangster can exist in Chennai. How long will it take for the police to gun down a gangster? The police let them live. The police let them kill. Finally, it boils down to survival. The gangsters, police and politicians want to survive. You do not know who the real parasite is. As I near the end of making the film, I am also scared. Is this the kind of society we are living in? The film isn’t giving any moral lessons though. It is a simple film about a simple man and his life. I always tell people not to give too much importance to a film. The time has come for the people of Tamil Nadu to see a movie as a movie. Only if they do that can we experiment.
