Where do the students volunteer? How many hours?
Students on the Volunteer and Spanish program all spend three afternoons each week volunteering at the local Los NiƱos Orphanage. These means that during a two week session students will get up to 15 hours of volunteer time. Students will be asked to interact with the children, reading to them, playing games and generally getting to know them. Students on the program as a group will also have one project that they will be asked to complete during their two week program. These projects can range from general upkeep of the facility such as painting walls and fences to building play areas and swing sets. Essentially we do whatever the orphanage needs at the time that they otherwise could not afford to do. For students who are on the program for longer than two weeks we have a number of other volunteer opportunities as well.
