Where do the students get their clinical experience since UCR doesn have a hospital?

UCR medical students are fortunate to have a wide variety of very personalized clinical experiences available to them. We have affiliation agreements with several local hospitals, and we have a staff of over 80 community-based clinical instructors who teach our students in introductory patient interviewing and examination skills, differential diagnosis, and other clinical basics. These are parallel experiences to those of their UCLA Year 1 and 2 counterparts. In addition, our clinical faculties act as preceptors or mentors for these students, working closely with them in their own real-world office and clinic environments. Our small class size enables us to personalize these experiences in a way that can’t be matched in a larger setting.
