We have scheduled rides on the first Saturday night of each month and the third Saturday or Sunday of each month during the riding season. We define the riding season to be April through October. The Saturday ride, known as the Meow Mixer, is a local lunch ride to a pre-determined restaurant. The monthly ride is determined by using the alphabet. By following the ABC’s, each member takes a turn in selecting a town in Kansas that starts with the next letter. For example, in our first riding season, we traveled to “A” Abilene; “B” Beaumont; and “C” Council Grove. The member in charge of selecting the destination also plans where to eat and what to do in that town, as well as the travel route.
