Where do the butterfly and moth wings come from?
Silver Butterfly Jewelry is an environmentally-responsible retailer. The wings for our designer sterling silver jewelry creations come from moths and butterflies from eco-friendly butterfly farms, never from the wild. On any given day on a butterfly farm, hundreds of butterflies emerge from their cocoons. Hundreds also expire naturally and fall to the forest floor. The ones in good condition are collected for sale, for use in products such as decorative inlay, displays and butterfly jewelry. If the wings of these naturally-expired butterflies and moths were not collected, they would simply be cleared away and discarded.
