Where do monarch butterflies migrate to?
The migration of Monarch butterflies depends on where they originate. Monarch butterflies east of the Rockies migrate to Mexico during the Fall. Monarch butterflies west of the Rockies migrate to coastal cities in the Fall. Most Monarch butterflies don’t live long enough to make the round trip, but in the Spring, their next generation makes the return trip.
