Where do Michigan Rowing Summer Campers Come From?
In 2007, we had 8 “locals” from Ann Arbor and 12 more from throughout Michigan. 8 campers came from California, 8 from Ohio and 5 from Maryland. Other campers also came individually or in small groups from Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Virginia. Most campers did not know anyone else at camp before they arrived, and it was easy to make friends quickly among the group. In 2008, we had campers registered from each of these states: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia — and two campers who flew in from London, England! In 2009 and 2010, we added more states plus France, Canada, and the Bahamas.
