Where do I learn more details about specific NLE configurations and products?

Videoguys.com is still around but the specialized Golden List / Silver List / 1394 card matrix are long gone; 1394 is a plug-and-play commodity product, of not already built into your computer] Mac-based stuff: Check out The Golden List, put together by Ross Jones and posted online at the “Desktop Video Guide at About.com”. Ross’ list contains links to all the major players on the Mac platform, with links to the manufacturers as well as a variety of more general-interest reviews, FAQs, and other DV-related info. Ross keeps his list up-to-date; that’s a full-time job in itself and some of us suspect that he has no other real job… PC-based stuff: Richard Lawler maintained The Silver List with all the PC-related information through Sepember 2001.
