Please contact BUSTR to determine if your local fire department has delegation of authority. If you local fire department is not delegated, the UST owner or operator must apply for a BUSTR permit. If you are the “owner” of a registered facility, you can apply for a permit online. Otherwise, you must contact the Bureau of Licensing and Certification at (614-752-7126) to request an application be mailed to you or you can download the “Permit Application” form from the web site at www.com.ohio.gov/fire/BUSTMain.aspx by clicking on “Online Office.” A BUSTR permit is valid for 180 days upon issuance. Any work needing performed on or after the 180 day expiration date requires a new permit. Ai addition, contact your local fire department to determine if a additional permit is required. The BUSTR permit fee is $35.
