In PA, you need to have a home improvement contractor license to do anything related to home improvement if your sales are over $5,000 annually. Related info can be found on the web site for the Office of Attorney General. This would be the main requirement in PA; there are many training/certification programs available. Some of these do have great value, and can be used as a selling point. Try to google “landscaping license in xxxx (your home state). This should bring something up if it’s required. But my best advice is to contract the AG office; they should know what is required!
