With Oracle Database 11g Release 2, the binaries for Oracle Clusterware and Automatic Storage Management (ASM) are distributed in a single set of binaries called the grid infrastructure. To install the grid infrastructure, go to the grid directory on your 11g Release 2 media and run the Oracle Universal Installer). Choose the Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster. If you are install ASM for a single instance of Oracle Database on a Standalone Server, choose the Grid Infrastructure for a Standalone Server. This installation includes Oracle Restart.
