Where do I find a contractor to repair or replace the concrete sidewalk, driveway approach, etc.?
The City cannot recommend any private business. However, there is a list available of substantially all contractors who have taken out Encroachment Permits for sidewalk replacements in the last 3 – 4 years. Many local companies licensed to do this work are listed in the Yellow Pages, under “Concrete Contractors.” Sometimes, good contractors are referred by friends or neighbors in your area. If you wish to check a contractor’s license, you may do so with the State Contractors License Board, using their toll free number, (800) 321-CSLB or Web site. According to the State Contractors License Board Classifications, a Concrete Contractor is a “C-8” licensee.
