Where do I cut my Phalaenopsis stem to make new flowers?

0

Look along the length of the flower stem and you will see small ‘eyes’, each of these is capable of branching out and producing more buds. When the existing flowers are nearly over cut the stem off above one of the higher ‘eyes’ and within a few weeks it should start to shoot out a new stem. If all of the flowers have dropped then the stem may have started to die back and may not branch out. If it dries up then cut it right back to the base and a new stem will grow within a few months.
