where do I apply for Pennsylvania concealed carry permit?
The basic application is done through local county sheriff’s department, requiring the names, addresses and phone numbers of two (2) references as well as a current photo of yourself. You must be at least 21 years of age and have no felony convictions. The five-year permit costs $19.00. Regardless of which county you make application to, it is advisable to check to with that sheriff’s office regarding particulars in application and the extent to which the permit applies to your carrying of concealed arms, especially where carrying a weapon is not permitted. If you are from out-of-state with a valid permit in your home state, note that Pennsylvania may not provide reciprocity (allowing that permit validity in Pennsylvania). A listing of states and their reciprocity are noted at http://www.pafoa.org/law/carrying-firearms/concealed-carry/reciprocity. Note that getting the license does not allow you the right to purchase a gun (concealed or otherwise) without the required background check.
