Where do guatemalan people come from?
Guatemala is just below Mexico in a region called Central America, the capital is Guatemala City. Guatemalan people speak Spanish, and they are latino (mestizo), they are a mixture of indigenous indian and european. From 1960 to 1996 there was a civil war in Guatemala and this resulted in a lot of Guatemalan people fleeing their country to find safety and a better life elsewhere. That is why there are many people from Guatemala who today live in North America.
