There was a story a few years back on 60 Minutes about a family in Las Vegas that sold $35,000+ monthly of brand new, designer clothes. They had 3 houses on the same block and all worked the family business. It turns out they would make friends with salespeople at all of the high-end department stores. The salespeople would hold the very best clearance clothes and shoes for this family on the day they would take the final markdown. Then, they would drive around and inspect all the clothes and buy thousands and thousands of dollars of clothes, and the salepeople who put them aside got the commissions and were happy too. So, to answer your question – you could go from store to store looking through clearance items and try to make friends with salespeople and maybe they could call you or hold certain designer items for you when the sale starts. Or, if you have a tax ID and business license, you are free to call up any manufacturer and see if they would be willing to sell to you. Depending
