Where Do Crystals Come From
Crystal gemstones form through a number of complex geological processes beneath the earth’s surface. Some gemstones form when water containing the right elements cools slowly in rock cavities, while others form as groundwater flows through cracks in rocks and dissolves minerals. Different crystals are best formed in certain regions – for example Lapis Lazuli is commonly found in Egypt, Russia, Afghanistan, Chile and Italy, whilst Tigers eye is most commonly found in Australia, India, South Africa and Mexico.
