where do cougars live?
Cougars, also known as mountain lions, pumas, or panthers, live in wilderness areas throughout Central and South America, Mexico, the western half of the United States, central Florida, and southwestern Canada. They have the largest range of any wild land animal in the Western Hemisphere. Although sightings in the United States have increased in recent years, cougars generally avoid human contact.
