Where do computer viruses come from and what are trojan horses?
Actually today viruses are mostly written by professional and organized criminals from Russia, the Ukraine and China etc. They write them to make money pure and simple. Most of what people call viruses are in fact “worms” that can be “Trojan horses”. A Trojan Horse is a hidden load inside another program. You think you are getting a free piece of software that will help you, and in reality it comes with a virus that will take control over your machine. Some of the Trojans log what you write and what websites you use. If you log on to your bank they will know your username, password, account numbers etc. And then they will use this information to steal your money.
