Where do all the rattles come from?
They can appear to come from everywhere. Owners’ experience’s point to a number of areas: The doors, which are incredibly complex and hence full of rattly bits. A strip down inevitably finds loose brackets and screws that can be tightened. Nothing beats the elation of tracking down and curing door rattles. They are incredibly annoying but can be beaten. The soft-top also comes in strongly, up or down. It tends to clatter about in the stowage area. Some rubber strips between the underside of the storage cover and the large soft-top latches can work wonders here. When up, any misalignment inevitably gives rattles any excuse. The latch area is also a definite rattle zone. If anyone thinks they have a rattle free top they should consult an audiologist! The dash area depending on the temperature has numerous buzzes.
