Judith Sheindlin (nee Blum) was born 10/21/1942 in Brooklyn, NY. She attended and graduated from American University in Washington, D.C then received her law degree from New York Law School in 1965. In February 1993, before her TV show had begun, Sheindlin’s outspoken reputation made her the subject of a Los Angeles Times article. She was subsequently featured in a segment on the newsmagazine show 60 Minutes, bringing her national recognition. This led to her first book, Don’t Pee on My Leg and Tell Me It’s Raining, published in 1996 by Harper Collins. Her show Judge Judy debuted in September 1996.
